I loved it and NEEDED it as I've moved to a country whose language I don't speak. The updated AI version is worse and I only signed up for the service once but didn't renew. Still, it's the best for higher end, professional translations for everyday business that I've found.
If you accidentally press the back…
If you accidentally press the back button, the text is not saved and you have to write everything again. This is a terrible experience. Can't you save everything you write in the paid version and return to the text later? What's the point of paying then?
I think Deepl is great
I think Deepl is great. I'm really baffled by recent negative reviews actually. More recently, the Deepl team (thanks Joyce) went out of their way to cancel an old subscription that I was unaware I had (due to changing email address). Very happy and 5 stars

Retired Senior lecturer, researcher, and author I am using the free version on my Mac (Financial problem) - had a paid version in the past but will come back to it once my finances have been settled. I find Deepl Translate and Write of great help! An excellent tool to have!! Many thanks!! Michael Riccioli

Despite all the updates, the translations to Brazilian Portuguese are the most HORRIBLE I have ever seen. This team is highly incompetent.

Ich habe soeben mein Premium Abo soeben gekündigt. Was soll ich sagen. Hier gibt es seit Tagen Störungen, nichts funktioniert so richtig. Auch das Lektoratsprogramm zeigt hier seine Schwächen. Oftmals werden die Texte nicht verbessert, sondern deutlich schlechter. Nein danke. Schade ich habe das Programm mal richtig gut gefunden.

The UI is a sloppy piece of garbage
The UI is a sloppy piece of garbage, and then you cannot talk to a real, live human being to help you through the slop. Perhaps their translation is superior, but I will find a different service that is user-friendly and lets me speak with a real, live human being on the phone.

Jeg blev informeret om, at et abonnement hos DeepL ville koste mig et lille månedligt beløb, og at jeg kunne opsige det når som helst. Nu viser det sig, at der er blevet trukket et beløb på 89,88 euro for et helt års abonnement, noget jeg ikke har givet mit samtykke til. Jeg forventer at få mine penge tilbage, da det ingen steder fremgår eksplicit og tydeligt, at I opkræver for et helt år ad gangen. Det er ikke acceptabelt at hæve et så stort beløb uden at gøre brugeren klart opmærksom på det. I was informed that a subscription with DeepL would cost me a small monthly fee and that I could cancel at any time. Now it turns out that an amount of €89.88 has been charged for a full year’s subscription – something I did not give my consent to. I expect a refund, as it is not stated clearly or explicitly anywhere that you charge for an entire year upfront. It is unacceptable to withdraw such a large amount without making this clearly known to the user.

DeepL war mal gut - inzwischen fast unnutzbar
DeepL ist wieder ein Unternehmen, das zu nah an der Sonne geflogen ist. Grottenschlecht, Zeilenumbrüche, die man nicht macht, Übersetzungen die bei Wort zu Wort Vokabeln scheitern. Sinnhafte Übersetzungen funktionieren teils gar nicht mehr.. Sehr schade, war über Jahre meine Adresse bei Übersetzungen, inzwischen kann man sich mit ChatGPT über DeepL lustig machen. Die bösesten spitzen kommen dabei von GPT

es ist einfach unglaublich!!! Seit Wochen möchte ich für meinen Arbeitgebers 3 Deepl Advance Lizenezen kaufen. Auftrag ist an Deepl weitergegangen... aber keine Rückantwort, auch bei mehrmaligem Nachfragen (was ja nur per Mail geht) keine Reaktion seiten Deepl!??? Auch wenn man über den Support anschreibt und ne Bestätigung des Eingangs der eMail mit einer Bearbeitungsnummer bekommt. Keine Reaktion Seiten Deepl. Was ist das für eine Praxis?? Ist Deepl mit dem Kundensupport überfordert oder ist ihnen der Erwerb von 3 Lizenzen zu gering das sie nichtmal Antworten? Wirklich enttäuschendund peinlich für mich im Büro da ich für Deepl geworben habe.

Deepl prétend être "le meilleur traducteur au monde", un mensonge portant atteinte aux intérêts de ses clients et de tous ses concurrents humains. Merci de remplacer "traducteur" par "traducteur automatique", "outil de traduction" ou autre.

Very sorry to say that it's become completely useless for Italian. I used it for 3 years consistently (mainly paid version )until about 3 months ago. I just came back to it and it was worse than hopeless with even the most basic sentences. What happened??? It used to be brilliant.
Very very disappointing
Very very disappointing. The speech to text translation is only available on a Mobile phone and not on the PC. It will only translate a sentence at a time- rubbish for translating spoken texts. I have to use a paper dictionary to check some of their suggestions for English to German. Google Translate is as good and it's free. DeepL is not worth the money.
Einige eklatante Fehler
Ich nutze DeepL hauptsächlich zur Kontrolle meiner Übersetzungen. Insgesamt gibt es gute Übersetzungshilfen, aber man muss immer kontrollieren, da es auch immer Fehler gibt. Warum DeepL im Italienischen ständig die du und ihr Form verwechselt ist mir ein Rätsel.

Il faut savoir qu'avant, la version gratuite n'était pas limitée. Ensuite, une restriction sur le nombre de caractères traduits a été ajoutée, et aujourd'hui, je découvre qu'il y a également une limite de traductions par jour si l'on ne paie pas. Autant utiliser l’IA pour traduire les textes de manière plus fluide et gratuitement ! C'est une aberration de restreindre autant les services gratuits.
