I've been using deepl for 4-5 years at…
I've been using deepl for 4-5 years at least, as a translator. At first, it seemed to offer superior quality to that of google and many other competitors, so worth subscribing for a fee. However, in the recent 2-3 years the quality has not improved at all - what's worse me and my colleagues have noticed that it has noticeably deteriorated lately, at least in our language pair (EN to LT). Plus the desktop app itself is very unstable (constant crashes, extremely long log-in time). I am cancelling at the end of subscription period
DeepL is a brand
DeepL is a brand, it's more than just a translator. Although I use the free version because the paid one is a bit pricey for me, I'm very satisfied with the experience. I like everything about it - it's convenient, fast, and reliable. If you need quality, this is the place to go. The limits are great, the service is superb, and the API is top-notch too.

Great program to translate in many languages (I am using English, German, Polish and Italian). Easy to add to Microsoft applications. And the text polish function is better than orher programs especially for German and English.

I REALLY LOVE DeepL and use it daily over a dozen times. What I really very appreciate is the possibility to change languages. I‘m from Switzerland and therefore speak Swiss-German as well as High-German but my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE LANGUAGE IS AMERICAN ENGLISH. And usually I use DeepL to translate US-English into German and vice versa, but in between I also use DeepL to translate from German to Italian and vice versa. The other thing that I absolutely love is that it even contains Slang-Expressions and phrases. Awesome work, keep on going Andrej

Das DeepL-Team hat mich per E-Mail gebeten, eine Rezension abzugeben. Dem komme ich nach in der Hoffnung, dass man Verschlechterungen im User-Interface wieder rückgängig machen wird. DeepL war lange Jahre ein ungeschlagenes Übersetzungstool, aber mittlerweile ist die inhaltliche Konkurrenz groß. Bliebe also das geniale Tastatur-basierte Interface (markieren und Ctrl-C-C). Aber genau das funktioniert bei mir nicht mehr (falsche Spracherkennung oder gar nichts). Leider ist das typisch für "Deutsches Engineering": Gute Technik und Mängel in der Ergonomie. Schade.

Always check before hitting 'replace'
Great tool but being proficient myself in French and English (most of the time translating from/into Dutch, French and English) it is always more than recommendable to proofread the translation before you replace it as occasional misinterpretations sometimes occur.

I use it all the time we had some Ukrainian stay with us. It was excellent. I’ve used it Ukrainian, Spanish and Romanian fantastic so much better than Google translation

I have been using DeepL for a few years now to assist me in learning Romanian. I find it hands down better than anything else I have used to date. I see some pushback on the AI implementation, but personally I like it. Romanian is very cultural and conceptual and this has helped me enormously. I use it on my phone dozens of times per day.
My first choice
Trustworthy translations in general. In certain cases google gives in Italien / German better results. But for the ease of use is DeepL my first choice

deepl has always been a superior alternative to google translate for me. The quality of the translation was just higher. I imagine the overall industry bar has raised significantly now though

I am living in the Netherlands and do business in Germany, USA, Italy, France. I do speak these languages. Working from time to time with DeepL, however, gives me the confidence that the grammar and spelling is correct. I really appreciate that. I think you are doing a great job. Continue like that. It simply translates everything!
I have seen some very negative reviews about DeepL here, but I confess that I don't really understand why. I admit that there may be several explanations – some of which are not entirely innocent. From campaigns using fake profiles to “take down” the product (and, who knows, perhaps lower the company's value before an acquisition by an American player), to something much simpler: people who don't know how to use it, don't know how to install it, or are expecting to get everything “Pro” without paying for Pro. I use DeepL seriously, every day, for several years, and I really use the features that make a difference: shortcuts (Command+T, Command+Shift+2), file translation, workflow integration, everything. And, honestly, I've never encountered any problems that justify the tone of the criticism. I work mainly between Portuguese and English, but I also use French, Spanish, German, and other languages when I need to. The results have been consistent, fast, and, in my experience, clearly better than Google Translate in many cases — especially when the text has nuances, tone, or less ‘obvious’ structures. For me, it's simple: I highly recommend it.
